13 million child marriages were reported in India as per 2011 census. Six million children were born to couples married in the age group of 10-19. The majority of these children were boys (3 million). Thus indicating 0.11% that child marriages and early pregnancy which could put both the mother and child at potential risk.
Government of India has taken many steps towards this to reduce child marriage and promote mother and child care some of which are:
